Waymo & Lyft Rebranding

WAYMO and Lyft combine to offer automated ride-sharing experience.

As autonomous car technology become more mature, many estimate that 10 ten years, ride-sharing services will mainly be offered by autonomous cars. In this project, I envision how WAYMO and Lyft would collaborate, combining WAYMO's technology with Lyft's customer service expertise to offer such ride-sharing service.

The new product is called Aride. With no driver in the car, Aride focuses on creating personalized experiences for its riders, turning the space in the car into a space where riders can work, socialize, relax, and have fun.

Proposal
Iteration 1

One concept I had was using a "roller-coaster ride" as a metaphor, implying that the service is at the same time exciting (no driver in the car!) and safe.
I also hoped to take elements from WAYMO and Lyft's brands to create a new brand that embodies both reliable technology and hospitality.
Iteration 2

I created the logo type using geometric shapes as well as using the pen tool. The left part resemble's WAYMO's logo, while the right part expresses similar feelings as Lyft's logo.

I used different colors for different types of ride experiences.
Iteration 3

I modified the logotype to make "A" and "e" a more integral part of the logo.
I re-arranged the web ads to make them look more balanced.
Final Iteration
I modified the horizontal web ads to use circles to more vividly represent different kinds of riding experiences.
I modified the logotype to make the "i" look more balanced with a larger dot on top.
